The court order barring me from the internets expired recently, so I thought I would resume posting.  Perhaps by now longtime readers have come to their senses and no one will care anymore.

Much has happened over these past three months.

Mrs. Sneed has settled into a retirement routine. She worked at her old job 6 days in February and that served to reinforce her decision to retire.  Getting up and going off to a job sucks, once you have gotten out of the habit.

I have cut down to 20 hours a week at the hardware store and I suspect I am going to call it quits sooner rather than later.  In May I am going to start getting my Social Security payments.  Believe it or not my SS payment is about twice what I make working 20 hours at the store.

My reasons for working is more complicated than the few bucks I make.  I enjoy working, as long as I do it in moderation.

In other news. the Seafood King has taken a job since the collapse of his fish empire.  This job keeps him from playing golf on Thursdays.  Some Guy Named Bob doesn't want to play if it just me and him, which is okay with me.  Last week the third player he lined up backed out, so SGNB called me with a last-minute excuse to bail out on our game.

I think I will just tell SGNB that I am done playing.  Recently, I have been playing on Tuesdays and some Thursdays at a par three course near our home.  I rather enjoy being paired up with whoever shows up.

You see what I'm up against.

Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

Your philosophy, "I enjoy working, as long as I do it in moderation," is completely in agreement with mine. I had to read it aloud to a certain someone.

Heh, love your non-posting excuse.

I'm with Mrs. Sneed on the job issue--I prefer no job at all. I can still find ways to be productive and to socialize.

My condolences to Seafood King on the collapse of his fish empire.

Love that last picture - you are definitely up against it :)

Thanks for posting - I was considering a road trip to Hooterville to see what was up!

Howdy and nice to read some news from you -

I agree about the work - although I have 3 more yrs until SSI - in Aug I will start receiving my early pension from the paper - will lose only $100 a month for the early, but I'm still ahead of the game of working -
Oh, I was laid off in early Jan and have been expecting it for the last few yrs - due to the usual blunders of those in charge at most jobs -

Anyway, nice to pop in and read ya again - great photo at the end -

to be a kid ; ) = Cheers to you and yours!

You're back!!

I'm not too sure how to take that comment about longtime readers.....
I think I'll just ignore it.

I'm pleased it was only a court order that kept you from the internet and not something more dire and more permanant.

I'm sure the par 3 will provide you with some good post material.

Wow, some life-changing changes at the Sneed household. Abandoning golf with SK and SGNB, and moving on from the hardware store! My world is exploding!

I can't wait to see what you get up to next, Merle. :)
