I came home from work last night at a few minutes past six.  Mrs. Sneed and I planned on going out again, so I parked my car in the driveway, rather than in the garage.  Shortly thereafter, Miss Riley arrived with her mom to pick up Piper, who stays with Mrs. Sneed on Thursday and Friday.

Riley marched in and announced that my car belongs in the garage, not in the driveway.  This meant her mom had to park at the curb, throwing the universe into disarray or something.

"Should I go move it now?"

"Yes, right now!"

I didn't. The little tyrant isn't telling me what to do.

Have you ever noticed that young people who work in service jobs often lack tact and customer skills?

Real Doughnut

The doughnut a guy trying to cheat us gets.

This morning I went to my neighborhood mini-mart to get a pumpkin latte.  They are currently having a free glazed doughnut, while supplies last, with a hot drink, promo.

Alas, they were out of glazed doughnuts, but just looking at the selection of delicious doughnuts on display made me hungry.   So, I grabbed a glazed buttermilk doughnut.  I knew full well that I would be responsible for my 79 cent blob of doughy sweetness.

I took my stuff to the counter and the young guy manning the register said, "Sir, for the future, you need to take a glazed doughnut with a hole.  That isn't a glazed doughnut but, I'll let it go this time."

This just pissed me off.

"You don't have glazed doughnuts, I understand the deal, I expected to pay when I walked up here, so just charge me."

"Oh, I didn't know that, I'm not charging you."

"Charge me."

There is never a good reason for an employee to start a sentence, "Just so you know...", or "In the future...".

Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

There hasn't been much customer service since about 1980.

Remember when they used to wash your windshield and check your oil?

Nobody wants to be talked down to by a doughnut salesman, that's for sure. Maybe you should send Riley in to straighten him out.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Riley would tell him what's what!

Are manners not being taught anymore, or is it just so fashionable to be rude? I don't know, but I hate it.
