Aiden and Riley love their video games.

Would it annoy or even offend you if a friend popped into your place of business to hit you up for one of his charities?  It does me, but then lots of stuff annoys me, so I might not be the best barometer of annoying behavior.

Last Friday, Some Guy Named Bob showed up in the store to ask me for money for a fund-raising walk he is participating in.   With SGNB and his causes, it is always something.  SGNB proudly tells me from time to time that he gave to nearly 200 different groups last year.

Is it me or is that a bit pathological?

SGNB lurked around long enough for me to finish waiting on my customer and then matter-of-factly hit me up for some cash.  Never once did it seem to occur to him that my place of business was not the time or place for fund-raising.

I play golf with SGNB every Thursday, so he has had ample opportunity to hit me up there, as he did the Seafood King a couple of weeks ago.  I suspect that he I might say no in a casual setting and used my workplace as a barrier against rejection.

But maybe I give him too much credit for craftiness.

I would probably be annoyed - but it would be fruitless for my friend anyway since I never carry cash (this is in attempt to cut down on chocolate purchases, but it doesn't really work since our office cafe takes plastic. Sigh).

I even feel annoyed for you!

At least he's walking for the money. In my day, you got paid by the mile, but nowadays people ask for a flat amount for participating. I like the money to be an incentive to walk farther.

Yeah, that's not good timing. Maybe he had a deadline to meet and couldn't wait until Thursday?

I see that Kurt is also familiar with the March of Dimes.

You should probably just tell him to hit you up in a different place next time if he wants a donation. Some people don't have a clue about what's socially acceptable. Isn't he the same guy who rides around with a trunk full of thrift store clothes? He has quite a few bizarre behaviors.

I don't know about Some Guy Named Bob. I know he's your friend but ... sometimes I wonder.
