Kurt of the greater NY area,  noted that it has been some time since my last post. People note things every day.

Lots of things are happening around here.  Mrs. Sneed is down to her last 4 work days and despite some last minute second-guessing, she is at peace with her decision to retire.

Last week I attended a going away luncheon at her work.  Her doctor/boss is a famous pediatric gastroenterologist who has been a doc for 40 something years and has practiced all over the world.  He said that Mrs. Sneed is the best nurse he has ever worked with.   High praise.

There were some other remarks by other people and there was some crying.  It was some of the nicest things I've ever heard said about a person not laying in a box.

In other news, the Seafood King's empire collapsed without warning a couple of weeks ago, a victim of the poor economy.  Or maybe something else, who knows?

The Seafood King abruptly shuttered his stores and laid off all his workers.  Initially, he said that he would reopen within a few days, but now he seems resigned to the idea that his closure is permanent.

Some Guy Named Bob suffered heat stroke while playing golf and had to be carted away in an ambulance.  Luckily, I wasn't there to witness the whole business.  He took several weeks off from golf on doctor's advice, giving me a much needed break from his antics.

He was back to golfing a couple of weeks ago and then was on another hiatus while he recovered from eye surgery.  In true SGNB fashion, he was not able to golf during recovery, but was able to drive all over town with two giant weepy eyes, menacing the motoring public.

So, there you go, that is all the news that I can remember.

Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

Big happenings. Soon, you will leave the hardware store so you and Mrs. Sneed can travel the world.

I love how loved Mrs. Sneed is - and I'm glad she stuck to her decision to retire.

Sorry about the Seafood King - scary times for him & his family.

And thanks for the SGNB story - he always lifts my spirits :)

Wow, that's a lot of news! The downfall of the Seafood King, the retirement of Mrs. Sneed, and the ill health of SNGB. No WONDER you've been too busy to blog!

Hope things are going well for you, Merle!

I hope life improves for your golfer buddies. Unfortunately businesses are closing all over the place.

My best wishes to Mrs. S. in her retirement. I hope my daughter, who is becoming a nurse practitioner, will end up working for someone as nice as her boss.
