Cinco de Mayo is a big deal around here. Maybe it is a big deal everywhere, but I can't tell, since I only live here.
When I was driving to play golf yesterday, I noticed that a Mexican restaurant near our house had cordoned off their parking lot with fencing and was setting up for some big to-do. For just a minute I wondered what was up and then I thought to myself, "Ah, Cinco de Mayo."
Then, I wondered, "Is Cinco de Mayo this week?
Being mostly retired gives me the luxury of not knowing nor caring what the date is. I look forward to being even more clueless in the future.
Did you know that even though Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in cities across the good old US of A, that it is mostly a regional holiday in Mexico? I read that.
