I normally leave my fountain running on those infrequent nights when the temps dip below freezing.   Last night it was in the high teens here in Hooterville and running or not, the fountain still froze up.  I hope I didn't ruin the motor.

As I type, it is 19 degrees and the frickin' wind is blowing 20mph.  My recollection is that Hooterville is supposed to be where people go to escape the cold, not embrace it.

Of course, I spent many a winter in Omaha where the temperature is a toasty -3 this morning, so perhaps I should remember that discomfort is relative.  not to mention that much of the country is frozen in place.

Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

Well you're dipping down into our territory! It was 11 degrees when I left the house this morning. We left water in our ceramic birdbath & it cracked :(

Something is really off when Dallas and Tucson are getting snow and we have relatively balmy winter weather. Is this Gaia in action?
