A two-year-old commandeered my iPad, so that she could play "Angee Birds".  Somehow she has figured out how to turn it on, find the Angry Birds app and to open the game.  Unbelievable to me.  I was stumped by our first VCR.

We are watching the latest press conference from University Medical Center about the condition of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.  The doctors say that she is in ICU and on a ventilator.  The doctors while cautiously optimistic that she will recover,  also describe the situation as precarious.

As for the other victims at UMC, all have been upgraded from critical and moved out of the ICU.  Good news.

We awoke this morning to our street filled with police cruisers.  The synagogue next door was apparently Rep. Giffords place of worship and they were having a prayer service for her.  Before long, cars lined the curbs on our street for blocks.  It was a media circus, with television trucks from Hooterville, Phoenix and L.A.

As you can imagine there has been a load of misinformation floated about. With 24 hour coverage, that is not unexpected.

The big mistaken report was that Ms. Giffords had died.   Oops.  Of course the fault there lies with our Sherrif's office who leaked that tidbit.

Then there was the speculation of an accomplice.

A man was seen entering the Safeway store with the killer.  Luckily, he showed up today to answer police questions.  The killer took a cab to the shooting and the guy on tape was the cabbie.  They were going into the store to get change so the killer could pay his fare.

I think this is illustrative of the disturbances in the shooter's thinking.  He left a cryptic farewell on an online site.  Then, he took a $14 cab ride to the scene of his crime and since he only had a $20 to pay, he made the cabbie come into the store to get change.  I guess he didn't want to over tip.

Most people might think. "crap I'm going to be dead anyway, so $14, $20 why does it matter.?"  Crazy people...who knows what they are thinking?

Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

Your last sentence says it all - who the heck knows WHAT they're thinking? And even if they told us, would it make sense?

I hope Ms. Giffords recovers...from the sounds of it, she has a chance of doing so...

I have the same question...what is the angry birds app about?

Okay, it's only like the most popular download out there. Sheesh. I need to get with the times.

Listened to lots of news yesterday and today. I liked Keith's bit. He gets on my nerves a lot but not this time.

"Jeez, Meg, get with the times."
...is what I was going to post earlier today while eating my lunch, but it wouldn't let me for some reason.

I'm most amazed the killer is still alive. A life in prison or even killing him will never be able to compensate for the dead and injured as he unloaded his handgun on Saturday. And why is it that nutcases like this can go out and easily purchase a weapon like that?

We've watched the news in dismay. Of course, I thought of you. Can't believe all that happened on your street. The world is so much smaller with these crazy computer machines. We all kind of know somebody somewhere in the world.
