We had our primary elections yesterday, as did many places. Heck, maybe all places had them, I don't pay that much attention.
Anyway, I'm glad the primaries are over, so that people I've never heard of will stop bothering me with phone calls and visits to our doorstep. At least for a month or so until they gear up for the general election.
Elections always pit independent-minded, outsiders bent on reforming the system, against independent-thinking insiders doing their best to reform the system, despite overwhelming opposition from the lunkheads on the other side of the aisle.
The result is generally the same stuff, just more of it.
Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

I think we should let kids run things for a while.
I have that same opinion. Even when the people who supposedly have the same agenda as I do get elected (Mr. Obama!) I don't see that much difference. Sigh.
Sometimes I think you would have to be crazy to go into politics!
What kind of always do you have, again?
I always feel like a total fake when I go vote ... well, not always. In the last presidential election I was completely convinced I knew what was needed.
Mostly in local elections I feel uninformed. I can read all about the candidates, but what I read has been so processed and filtered, it's hard to recognize what's true and what isn't.
we had our primaries yesterday - huge turnout (not!) when i went at 5:30 i was the 62nd person who voted. eh gads
