What does it say about us as society when the biggest movie of the weekend was Mall Cop? Hollywood is replete with actors who can only play themselves and Kevin James is not the exception. I watched the Obama celebration on HBO tonight and I have to admit that it was hard not to get caught up in the excitement. When did little Stevie Wonder become large and old Stevie Wonder? Oh yeah, the same time it happened to Merle Wayne Sneed. Of course Stevie still has that talent thing going on and Merle Wayne is still a hardware guy. I wonder how the President-elect feeling with the pressure of saving our country on hs shoulders? People are expecting so much, that disappointments are inevitable. But optimism ran high. Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

When did the general public start caring about box office figures and opening day revenues? I don't remember hearing about this kind of stuff growing up. It's all about the money, I guess.

Merle - tell me what to do. Face the throngs in DC only to watch the inauguration on a Jumbotron, or stay home and watch it on TV. Note: I have a bad cold right now.

Yeah, but who are those people that go to see those films? I'm just sayin' ; (

I read that HBO didn't show the gay priest or whatever or the gay mens chorus of ny. Wonder who made that decision?

Optimism is something we should strive for and get used to, as opposed to the negativity of the last 8 yrs.

but it's just me.....

I'm optimistic.

I'm watching at home with my personal jumbotron (much smaller than the jumbotronscreen in DC) and a bottle of champagne. I've been to an inauguration before. It was a lot of standing around in the cold.

I think the public is sick of seeing the same regurgitated actors and actresses over and over again. Tom Cruise, Nicholas Cage....blah, blah, blah. They are desparate for some new faces. I know I am.

Mall Cop? Sound like a teen flick. As for box office figures, that's just another sad reflection of the corporate world's proccupation with money and our adoration of it.

As for the parents who left the stroller in the parking lot, perhaps they'll remember it when they look in the back and it is missing? That was dumb, but not as dumb as leaving the kid somewhere and driving home and having your wife ask where your daughter was. I know someone who did that--and it wasn't me!

Mr. Obama has a lot of work to do, but so don't we all!

I enjoy your blog...
