Crap, We Lost The Biffle Account

A guy goes into a hardware store and selects several items. He goes to the register and says, "I forgot my wallet, can I take these and come back later to pay for them?" Cashier says no. Guy get pissed and drops one large bag of stuff on the floor causing it to split and the contents to spill out onto the floor. Guy leaves and the cashier gathers up everything and brings it to the back of the store in a cart to be restocked. Right before closing time the guy comes back. He asks the clerk, "Where's my stuff?" In the back of the store in a cart she tells him. The guy storms to off to find the cart. The guy spots the cart of stuff and grabs it, pushing it wildly through the store. Guy spots an employee and shouts at him, "You people wouldn't trust me long enough to get my GD wallet. This is the last time I shop here." Then he continues toward the register. The employee is the high school kid who does janitorial work. High school kid is sorry to hear this. Guy is an idiot. I spent the afternoon trying to put new glass in three large windows. I don't do this type of work that often and it takes me a long time to do it. Cutting big pieces of glass to size is very nerve wracking and I messed up a couple of pieces. Don't tell my boss. Plus, I have to stop repeatedly to help people who come in to buy stuff. The first of the month is also a big time for making keys. Tenants move out and new ones move in. All this takes keys, lots of keys. Our neighborhood has a lot of apartments, so we had a steady stream of key customers today. My little sidekick went home this morning and the lovely Mrs. Sneed is still away. I was thinking of getting a keg and some hookers, but I'm too tired and I have to get up early to go to work in the morning. Maybe next time. Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

Inexperience, there seems to be a lot of that going around.

I may post at a later time, but after 2 yrs working for myself again (and vowing never to work for a large co ever again) I started a job for a company that scans old and some very old books for the Library Of Congress among other large accounts.

If I related a story I heard that may have lost the account, you may not believe what "one" person could do to screw things up, never realizing what a large account the LOC is. ; (

A small busy-ness can be fun.

Maybe this young man will have learned something?

Yes, I hope the kid learned that you really can't deal with idiots and all you can do is stay polite, smile and say "sorry"
and be secretly glad the idiot will never "shop" (or drop) at your store again.

As for the glass, the first time you do anything for the boss, you feel a tiny bit nervous and want to do it perfectly.

You see how your new job is affecting the microeconomy of your city? You work more and purchase fewer hooker hours, they in turn purchase less meth, which means the meth dealers have to do more babysitting, and on and on.

Kurt's trickle down theory is spot-on. We squirrels are noticing less people standing around with coffee cups, which means less cookie & croissant crumbs. Some of us depended on those crumbs.
