I've noticed in the news that the presidential election hoopla is well underway. A herd of earnest-sounding candidates are touring the country accusing one another of all manner of stuff, while promising us the moon. Among the candidates (excluding the loonies and those others with no chance) are three US Senators, two guys who were Senators, two governors and a guy who used to be a mayor. Most are also attorneys, one guy is a former preacher and one admits to acting, even though most of them are acting. One candidate is black, one is a woman and the remainder are mature white guys. Some opposed the war and opposed it before the other people who opposed it. That includes folks who voted for it. Other candidates were for it first, even if we have to take their word for it. The one thing that they all have in common is that they are rich and they claim to care about the little people. Okay, that's really two things. They argue about who cares most, and according to their claims, it's a tie for the title of biggest carer. Many say that they have fought for the little people for years and year, although the little people largely haven't noticed. Many are in favor of kicking the Mexicans out. Probably most. Some like the idea of kicking them out as a concept, but are a sketchy on how they will actually do it. Mrs. Clinton made the odd proclamation that illegal immigrant women are not illegal becasue being a woman is not illegal. Got that? Are the men still illegal? One half of the candidates accuse the other half of having raised taxes and making the poor poorer. The other half accused the first half of cutting taxes and making the rich richer. They all agree that health care is a mess, but they don't agree on why or what to do about it. Mostly, they confuse rhetoric and promises with real solutions. It's only January and I am already sick of the whole business. Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

You should run for President, Dean Sneed-- it isn't too late to start campaigning!

I don't know if I'm just an old grump or not, but I don't remember it being this inane when I was younger. At least, at this point, we can only do better. Except maybe with that Huckabee weirdo.

It's so true.

A couple nights ago I had a dream that Obama and a group of four people I knew were involved in a plot to kill a toddler. Obama was doing his best to convince me that it wasn't that big of a deal and I should not alert the media because I would have to do talk shows, and I would have to buy new clothes which because my wardrobe is too casual. Then I was in the grocery store and I ran into Dennis Kucinich. Somehow he got me to promise to support him. It had something to do with limburger cheese. Maybe he promised to make that kind of cheese illegal and I liked that idea. ???

well I can't imagine the out of context stuff that goes on to make people seem stupid, and the stupid things they say that go unreported.

I just feel that a democrat is probably not going to win, which is sad. I will vote but I'm done watching the campaign stuff

I came here to second the motion for Dean Sneed to throw his hat in the ring, but I can't stop laughing about Julia's dream. I guess it's okay with me if Limburger cheese is illegal.
