This is a picture of a variety of yucca that someone has planted in their yard. The house here has desert landscape. In addition to the old yucca, you can see a mesquite in the background and Prickly Pear cactus.

Prickly Pear has a lot of things that are problematic and I would never have one in my yard. They spread rapidly, they are an excellent pack rat habitat and they are just butt-ugly. But to each his own.



Lots of people have citrus trees in their yards. This is a lemon in someone's front yard. What citrus owners figure out is that a little citrus goes a long way. Everyone thinks that they are going to eat the fruit but a lot of it winds up in the office break room, free for the taking.

Well, I had my first mishap concerning the new hardware job. My schedule on Thursdays is supposed to be 2pm to 6pm. That's what I was told when the job was offered to me and that's what it has been up to now.

Yesterday I went out with the Seafood King and Some Guy Named Bob to play golf. We teed off at nine and I figured I had plenty of time to get in the round and still make it to work with time to spare.

At about the fifteen hole I get a call from Son Sneed telling me to call work asap. It turns out that the boss changed my hours and I was supposed to be at work at 9am yesterday. I'm not sure how I was supposed to know that. I finally made it to the store at 1pm. Better late than never, I guess.
