I'm reading this book. It is about how we justify what we do and believe, no matter how stupid, irrational, illogical, immoral or just downright loopy it is. Otherwise, we would drive ourselves crazy and for some of us that is a short drive.
Very eye-opening stuff.
Speaking of which, I was talking to the owner of The Great Wall of Our Street this morning. He is in town for a few days.
He commented that the wall turned out to be a bit bigger than he had imagined it would be. Ya think?
But, he quickly added that his son was getting a lot of late night, suspicious characters coming to the door. Evidently, including a woman trying to sell tamales at 11PM. So, a wall, a big old wall, is just what you need to keep the interlopers at bay.
You see, it isn't that he wanted a big, big wall, it is that he really had no choice in the matter.
Mistakes were made, just not by him.
Or me. Just saying.
