This is what the great LORD says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. If you refuse to let them go, I will plague your whole country with frogs. The Nile will teem with frogs. They will come up into your palace and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and on your people, and into your ovens and kneading troughs. The frogs will go up on you and your people and all your officials.---Exodus 7:1-4
The locals are in full blown hysteria over the weather. We have, and I swear this is true, a blizzard warning for tonight. Never mind that they have been predicting torrential downpours all week and none have materialized. They really mean it this time. We have been cursed by thick clouds, cold temperatures and high winds all day today, though. The frog warning expired at five o'clock. Glad we dodged that bullet. Merle Wayne Sneed's first rule of weather forecasts, is that the severity of the weather will be inversely proportional to the hysteria of the forecasters. Inclement weather aside and being a man of the most manly sort, I trudged out to the golf course today with the usual suspects. It was not that much fun. On the bright side, bad weather doesn't affect average golfers that much, but provides ample excuse for screw ups. Our winter visitor friend, the Farmer, has come back to town. He will be playing golf with us until mid-April, when he goes back home. Having a fourth player is nice, especially one who is willing to handle the Some Guy Named Bob watch. The Farmer rides with Some Guy Named Bob and relieves me and the Seafood King of responsibility for him. It was a huge relief to get in from the wind and cold and enjoy a nice lunch after golfing. Lunch was followed by an even nicer two-hour nap. This has nothing to do with anything, but I confess that I love Willie Nelson. Diana Krall and Elvis Costello are no slouches either. Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

I'll bet you don't have sleet falling right now. We do. It's hard to imagine your end of the country under a blizzard watch! Isn't this supposed to be the good half of the year out there?

Here in Southern California, the slightest one hour drizzle leads to "Stormwatch!" on the local news. The recent 7 day stretch of rain is described as "biblical." Time to get going on that Ark I guess. What's a cubit? (Have you ever seen that Cosby bit about Noah's ark? Good stuff.)

We're in the middle of our usual winter here - 20s & 30s & dreary. Blech. And you & my dad (in NC) are playing golf. Sigh.

Rainy here. No "Biblical" stuff, just a lot of rain. Thanks for the video.

I heard that two feet of snow fell on Arizona yesterday. I wonder if any of it fell on Hooterville?

Isn't it nice that Elvis Costello found such a perfect soul mate? Warms the cockles of my heart.

Did you ever see the movie "Magnolia"? There's an awesome frog scene.
