Five days of not blogging and I can't explain why. Things have just gotten away from me, I guess. I decided to order a personalized license plate. My little statement about the folly of absolute certainty. One of the Bible-Thumpers at work asked me about the plate. His tone had a smugness that made me think he was itching for a fight about the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I didn't take the bait. Luckily, he remembered something terribly interesting about himself and we veered off to talking about him. Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

Ahh, that is my tactic with most people in general, give away as little about myself as possible but turn the conversation back to them. Great diffusion technique.

Now, see, this is where we're different - I would totally have a Jesus talk with the guy. I'm comfortable with my own spirituality - & usually itching for a controversy...

BTW - back in the day I had a personalized plate - OPUSLUST. Not for music, but Bloom County. Heh.

I think your new plate is pretty classy. However, if your Bible-toting colleagues start calling you Thomas, don't be surprised...

That's GREAT!! Love it.

You know even intensely spiritual people like myself can embrace doubt. A crisis of faith is part of any sincere and heartfelt journey, whether it's about spirituality, marriage, career, whatever.

I believe in skepticism! Swallowing anything whole is disrespectful of our human capacity for discernment.

Doubt is good! And so are you.

Good for you, Merle, give em hell.
