Well, the lovely Mrs. Sneed is back from her conference, so the party is done. I was able to get things put back in order just in time.
Speaking of things being out of order, some hooligan ripped up one of my landscape lights and made off with it.
This is what it is supposed to look like.
This is what I discovered this morning.
A mindless act of vandalism. The former Merle Wayne Sneed would have had a fit about this, but the kinder, gentler Merle Wayne realizes the futility in having a fit. Unless you can actually catch the little bastards in the act.
Anyway, a trip to Home Depot and all was well again.
Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

Hi Merle,
Sorry your landscape lighting got ripped off, not a nice way to begin the day...I wonder what in the world the thief thinks to do with it but put it in his own yard where it might be spotted by you?
It may have been silly kids. Good that you didn't waste your energy having a fit. I hope the new light stays in place.
The trees were idyllic, without them, there is nothing remarkable about this suburban spot at all. I'll soon learn to navigate in a chair. Things probably won't be as smooth as I hope but no point in worrying.
How big is Hooterville? Just curious.
Best to you and Mrs. Sneed.
Maybe a homeless family needed it for outside their tent in the desert. But most likely it was the work of a gang (like those roving gangs that smash mailboxes and steal those little reflector marker (stakes) things.)
What do you do with one landscape light? Use it as a nightlight? Or??
Bizarre. Glad you didn't expend any extra energy getting worked up. It's true, it's not worth it.
Sometimes, though, I get worked up anyway.
I think age teaches you not to sweat the small stuff. The good news is you were undoubtedly able to fix it yourself. I hope they don't try a repeat performance.
What a party! The karaoke contest was my favorite part. Your rendition of "Over the Rainbow" certainly brought down the house...
Some Guy Named Bob was weaving quite a bit as he left - maybe he thought the light was his parting gift? I'd check his soles for tell-tale gravel...
Hey, we had lights very similar to those in our yard in San Jose as kids.
