Our front yard is undergoing a transformation. Gone are the Desert Willow tree and the Lantana bushes. Both had proved too big for the space.
In their place I have planted a variety of drought-tolerant flowering bushes. Hopefully, they will provide a multicolored feast for the eyes in the years to come. Right now it looks a bit barren. Especially, if you live in a place where grass in the front yard is normal. That would be about anywhere but here, I guess.
The centerpiece thus far anyway, is this lavender. It was planted last summer an is taking off.
While I was taking the picture, I was startled by someone hiding on the far side. Luckily, he didn't shoot.
He says that he's a Jedi Knight and is on the trail of some Storm Troopers. Fortunately, they must have seen him coming and left the area.
A guy needs a good Jedi Knight from time to time.
Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

"Help me, Obi Wan Kenobi! You're my only hope!"
I love his grasshopper t-shirt, by the way.
Blooming lavender AND a Jedi Knight! You are a lucky man, Merle Wayne Sneed.
I'm afraid I could never get used to living in the dessert. But at least you aren't wasting precious water on a sodded lawn! And I do like the lavender bush. Just as you have to dress appropriately for the weather, you need to plant appropriately too and it would seem you are!
Your young visitor is quite cute!
Lavender is a great choice for dry areas. You can get so many varieties and it is as tough as old boots. Good choice Merle.

I love lavender-- I have a bit of it here and there in the yard--it's so tough! Xeriscaping makes sense wherever you live.
cute sneedlet. they grow up so fast.
Always good to have the Jedi on your side.
We all need Jedi knights, especially when they are so adorable!
Lavender! It's beautiful.
It's always good to have a jedi around!
Dennis is impressed but what about a cactus? and what's the 411 on the kittens that Jedi has?
