The air conditioning guys, Brian and Kevin showed up early this morning with the new air conditioning unit in the back of their truck.
They unboxed it, went up on the roof and disconnected the old unit. Then they waited for the crane.
Finally, after some confusion over whether the boss remembered to schedule the crane, it showed up.
The boom was extended over the house.
The old air conditioner was lowered to the ground.
The new unit was hoisted up. Isn't that the bluest sky you've ever seen?
And the crane left. Brian and Kevin wasted no time in hooking up the new a/c.
All's well that ends well.

You have a flag. We never have a flag. Ever! Or blue skies like that. Only pollution that is killing me slowly...
I could have used that crane the last couple days...
Thank goodness we only have the need of a window AC.....it just about breaks my back putting it in.
Of course, in Ca, we had natural AC and would like to get back to an area like that.

For some reason, I had this terrible sense of foreboding at the beginning of the photo sequence...like the crane wasn't going to show up, or it was going to drop the a/c on the house. Glad to see none of that happened. (Clearly I've been exposed to a few too many crane accidents this year!)
I always say "You become good at what you do, so be careful what you do."

that is a honking big a/c - it must get mighty hot to need one so BIG. glad it has good efficiency ratings - I'd expect you would get one with the smallest footprint.
I have one a/c unit on the third floor of my house and have turned it on maybe a total of 8 days this summer. some people where I live use a/c alot, I don't really like air conditioning and it really isn't necessary if there is good air flow.
sometimes we have nice blue skies in cleveland, but nothing compared to most places, especially out west (well places without smog) - it's the lake that clouds things up! but the lake gives us those lovely breezes and that lovely lake effect white stuff!
really sorry that the new car is now on hold. a honda civic is an excellent choice by the way!
Nice to see all went well. I produced an epic disaster film of how it might have gone, had you hired the wrong crew. I love air conditioning --we live between a very dusty major road and a hospital (siren noises.) and the vol fire dept. siren is nearby also. For me a/c means a quiet cool space with very little air and noise pollution getting inside. It's as important as the heater is in winter.
How cold does it get at night in winter in Yourtown, USA?
how the heck do you retire, early with an air conditioner that big? THat has to run you about 600 a month to run! I dont need your financial facts, and im sure if it did run you 600 you wouldnt use it, but that is a MASSIVE air conditioner. Here in Florida, We have small ones, and I run it 24/7 maybe i should get a bigger one so it dosent run so much.
