Wednesday
All kidding aside, is there a rule that the bigger the SUV, the more the driver has to talk on his or her cellphone? I think that there is.
I was nearly run over this morning at Starbucks by a woman driving a big old SUV. She was speeding across the parking lot, jabbering on the phone and nearly flattened me. Only my lightning quick reflexes averted disaster.
"OMG! I have to totally hang up, I just ran over a guy at Starbucks."
She parked her car, gave me a friendly apologetic wave, went in, ordered, went into the bathroom, came out and picked up her order, got back into the SUV and drove off. All without getting off her phone. Who has that much to say? And who has time to listen?
I see that Starbucks is closing 600 of its stores. I hope mine isn't one of them. This isn't like the big city where there is a Starbucks on every corner. Often times we have to travel as much as a mile to find a Starbucks. No one ever said that life on the frontier is easy.
If my posts seem more intelligent than they used to, it may be because I bought myself an Apple MacBook. Or as Daughter Sneed says, I've gone over to the dark side.
I'm not a computer guy, so I don't fully appreciate the technical advantages of a Mac, but I have to say, so far it is a dream to use.
If my posts seem as dopey as always, just remember, you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear.
By the way, here's the link for the National Geographic Genographic project if you are interested in more information.
Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

I love Macs, and would totally do an advert for them if they wanted me too.
i met a guy who dislikes macs, he kept claiming that i couldn't possibly be doing all my artwork and advanced photoshop stuff on a little laptop. but it's all i have, so he be wrong.
ps
it must be the summer of dodging bad drivers--maybe gas prices encourage sloppy driving and maybe road rage will increase--along with locking gas caps.
I like the way my Mac presumes to know what I want to do and makes it really hard to do anything except that. I also like how the Superdrive can't read some CDs, CDs that every CD player in the house can read. That is Super. And when it can't read a CD, it goes on endlessly thinking, and won't stop unless you restart it.
I also like how a lot of great programs won't work on it, Like Photoshop.
It isn't susceptible to viruses, but then again, I never got a virus on a PC in my life.
Ah, the Mac!
Dennis loves doing photoshop on his Mac.
Dennis does not have the $$$ to buy a brand new "experimental" mac though--he will use the one he has for as long as possible.
How many computers does Kurt have anyway?
Dennis wonders how many CD players does one house need? What's up at Kurt's place????
Kurt just sent me a text message about shoes.
That's what you get for drinking SB! ; ( Although, maybe now they'll do what they started doing in the beginning, making a real good coffee drink, rather than flavored water with lousy shots of espresso.
Oh yeah, ya can't drive a big vehicle without having bad manners. Why do you think those people want to be noticed driving large vehicles in town only?
Perplexing.........
Oh, not to be nasty about your drinking establishment. I'm sure it will stay open since there isn't another right across the street. Or around the block, or even a block away. ; )
Macs aren't popular in India because they're expensive as compared to PC's/laptops that run on Windows. Plus they don't run pir@ted software like PS.
Welcome to Theme Thursday, Edward.
PS- Thanks for the link.
I have to agree with CM--the coffee at our local Starbucks is watery. Ours may close since we have other bakery cafes within easy walking distance of SBs
I want to the genographic project. Maybe I could do the maternal and I could convince my brother to choose paternal. Maybe I can get him to pay for it too, lol. Which side did you choose, Merle?
The "hands free" law just went into effect here in CA on Tuesday.
It's hysterical how many people have things sticking out of their ears all of a sudden.
Some people say, "Once you go Mac, you never go back."
I crack myself up.
