Being Boss Is An Art
I got a call first thing this morning from a former coworker. My former boss (gosh that just rolls off the tongue) Randall Bing had her call me with a complaint.
When I left Tedious Systems Randall instructed me to leave a message on my voice mail directing callers to this coworker. The plan was for her to triage the calls and get them to the appropriate person, since rather than replacing me, my work was distributed among 6 or 7 other people. I left the following message.
This is Merle Sneed and as of June 29th I have retired from Tedious Systems. Please call Deanne Pfizer at XXX-XXXX and she will direct you to someone who can help you. If Deanne is not available please call Randall Bing at XXX-XXXX. Thank you.
Evidently, it was the last part of the message that got Randall's nose out of joint. According to Randall, I didn't speak clearly when recording Deanne's number and he was being inundated with calls from people complaining that they couldn't understand my message. That is categorically untrue. I listened to the damn message and the number was very clear. Randall just didn't want these folks calling him.
Man, am I ever glad to be rid of these boneheads. I also got my final paycheck from Tedious today, so my retirement is officially official.
We actually had some rain this afternoon. This is the time of the year when our rainy season starts. We don't get much rain but July and August are prime time for precipitation. The big benefit of the rain, was a fifteen degree drop in the temperature. The downside is the dramatic increase in humidity. Of course we don't have humidity like most places. Many times in June the humidity here is only six percent, so it really is a dry heat.
Things in this blog represented to be fact, may or may not actually be true. The writer is frequently wrong, sometimes just full of it, but always judgmental and cranky

We're supposed to get near 100 tomorrow, and it will be very humid. Ack. My back is already itching.
HA HA! Randall Bing got extra calls... F him.
I think I need to take Kurt up to the Mtns. It's cooler up there. If he still complains I can just sit him in some ferny shade and turn a sprinkler on him
Ha ha! Laughing about Bing!
