Sunday
Well, I've made it to another Sunday night and that means that the countdown has begun to the beginning of four days of torture, the workweek. Even though I get 3 day weekends until the end of the year, it is astonishing how quickly 4 day weeks become unbearable.
Older Son and Daughter-in-Law Sneed shared with us today that they purchased a new home yesterday. It is 4200 square feeet of suburban luxury and should be completed by November 2007. Up until Daughter Sneed bought her home 5 years ago, Casa Sneed was the best digs a Sneed had ever lived in. Now the poor Casa has been pushed down to third place and is falling. The lovely Mrs. Sneed has proclaimed our poor home puny. Puny? I spent my entire childhood sleeping in a series of tiny bedrooms with my hooligan brothers. This joint is a palace.
The week ahead does hold the promise of adventure. A bunch of people at my company got word last week that they are being laid off, which is bad. Word around the building is that there will be more this week, so times are exciting and not in a good way. The bosses are burning the furniture to heat the house.
My dilemna is that if my coworker gets the opportunity to explore other employment opportunities, the boss may expect me to step up, in which case I will have to step out. We will see, what we will see.
Merle.
