It puts me in mind of the George Bernard Shaw quote: "Hegel was right when he said that we learn from history that man can never learn anything from history."Paulinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14555472024981357622noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9030581.post-15487290407846809112009-09-19T07:41:07.840-07:002009-09-19T07:41:07.840-07:00love your thumbnail analyses

Will you please run for president?

Seriously, I think there's a tone to the Obama criticism that stems from racism -- perhaps not even detected by those who spout the vitriol. I don't think, for example, that congressman from South Carolina would have yelled "You lie!" at a white president. There was a disrespect there that transcended the individuals involved.Steve Reedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11684120060438252945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9030581.post-57407476204519315372009-09-18T06:06:41.700-07:002009-09-18T06:06:41.700-07:00I don't remember anyone comparing Bush to Hitl...I don't remember anyone comparing Bush to Hitler, though They say it happened.

It may be because I'm not old enough, but it seems like when people in the old days said critical things about the president, they meant them, whereas now it is mostly political maneuvering.Kurthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03076973960956565537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9030581.post-21344664540277224122009-09-18T05:30:41.074-07:002009-09-18T05:30:41.074-07:00If all those people could be putting their energie...If all those people could be putting their energies into fixing what's wrong with this country instead of complaining about the President, we'd all be a lot better off. There are plenty of things each and every one of us can do every day without getting the White House involved.
